Affiliated Hospitals/Health Systems A Variety of Clinical Experiences

Drexel Med Student

Students get a variety of clinical experiences through our affiliates across the United States.

In the greater Philadelphia region, a health care innovation hub, students benefit from working in an area that has the nation’s third-highest concentration of research institutions. In western Pennsylvania, our affiliates have long traditions of educational excellence.

Through Drexel’s collaboration with Tower Health, the largest health system between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, our students delve deeply into serving the community with compassionate, high-quality health care at both Reading Hospital, its 724-bed flagship hospital, and at other Tower sites within the Philadelphia region. Multiple, additional sites throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey are used for family medicine rotations.

Our students may also choose to spend their clinical years in Northern California at our Kaiser-Permanente Bay area campus, an outstanding health system dedicated to high-quality care and educational excellence. All sites in the Bay Area provide students with an opportunity to learn from a robust clinical faculty who are leaders in their respective fields. The students also get to interact with other medical students, residents and fellows during their clinical experience.

We strongly encourage students to take advantage of access to the multiple medical centers and patient care sites available through our affiliates. Each hospital has its own unique culture and patient population. Students can work with faculty members in metropolitan centers, working-class neighborhoods, suburbs, inner city areas and rural communities.
